Can you believe that Father's Day has officially only been in existence since 1972. It took 4 presidents and a Maine senator to eventually make it an official holiday. Mother’s Day had been around for approximately 60 years by then. Sonora Smart was the first person to suggest Father’s Day to honor her Father who was left to raise his 6 children when his wife died giving birth to their 6th child. It was then proposed to complement Mother’s day in celebrating fatherhood and male parenting. Nowadays Father's Day is celebrated on a variety of dates around the planet and typically involves gifting, extraordinary dinners to fathers, and family-focused activities. To help in support of Father’s day young members of the YMCA went to church sporting a rose: a red rose to celebrate a living father, and a white rose to honor a deceased one. Interestingly enough Father's Day was in jeopardy of disappearing from the calendar while Mother's Day was met with enthusiasm, Father's Day was often met with laughter. Not all fathers are exactly alike! OK, so you’re thinking what in the world can I obtain my dad for Father’s day? I don’t live at home any more and have no idea what he wants. You aren’t truly considering purchasing a gift card to Lowe’s or Home Depot are you? That’s about as personal as a another wool sweater. A Graduation Gift That Is A Special As They Are
Graduation Gifts Commencement is a major life event for anyone. Whether graduating from a bachelor's program or earning a doctorate, graduation is an accomplishment worth commemorating. In the United States, achieving 57% of the population between the ages of 3 and 34 are registered in some sort of educational program. In 2001, 38% of approved students of 2 year institutions graduated along with 65% from 4 year institutions. This shows that it takes hard work and commitment to achieve an education and this is why we should award those who see it through. A friend of mine recently tranferred from Rhode Island to Colorado to complete his education in a very different part of the country. He is lucky enough to attend a university with various campuses nationwide which allows him to transfer his credits without restraint from one state to the next. He did not leave because he was unsatisfied with the campus in Rhode Island or in order to find a new social scene. His only reason for heading to Colorado was so that his family in California could be resent for his graduation ceremony. My friend is from a large Mexican family and he is the first among them to graduate from university. For his family this means there will be a huge party that may last several days. He will not only be surrounded by loved ones and lots of great food, but he can count on the generosity of gifts. Gift giving is an important part of any graduation celebration, because it allows family and friends an opportunity to let the graduate know that they are proud of them. Thanks A Bunch It seems as though the craft of giving thanks has been lost over the years. Sending a personalized thank you note was once habitual for both personal and business occasions, but now most people presume it's enough to casually send an email with a prompt "thanks" before getting back to their active daily lives. Now don't get me wrong. I know that the world is faster paced than it once was and most people hardly have time to rest and catch a break, but if you think about it, that just gives you that much more reason to send a genuine thanks. Because we've become less conditioned to receiving an official thank you, it makes a much greater impression when we do get one. It genuinely is a lovely surprise to see someone went out of their way to say "thanks." I haven’t yet mentioned the impact it can leave on your business. By simply taking a moment to write a personalized thank you, you are able to express to your customer how valuable their business is to you. By developing personal relationships with your business partners, you are ensuring their loyalty and giving them a reason to conduct business with you as opposed to your competitors. If I still haven’t convinced you that delivering a thank you gift or note is worth the effort it takes, why don't you think about doing something that takes no time at all? Sending flowers or a gift basket from an online website takes about as much time as sending an email, but gives a much more significant impression.

Painted Easter eggs are a part of the festivities too that came from the egg which was a sacred symbol among the Babylonians.
