Mother’s Day as we know it is a somewhat recent holiday, though it isn't a “Hallmark holiday” established to sell more cards. There are a number of Mothering day or Mother-focused holidays in history like Mothering Day in the UK, Cybele in ancient Greece, or Mothering Sunday in much of Europe. Mother’s Day was developed by Anna Jarvis in 1912. Mother’s day was specifically chosen to be a singular possessive meaning it was suitable for each family to respect their mother, not plural possessive that would be used to honor all the mothers of the world. Following congressional passage, It was officially established on May 9, 1914 when president Woodrow Wilson made the official statement proclaiming Mother’s day as a national holiday to be held on the 2nd Sunday of May. Mother’s Day has thereafter celebrated in many other countries and cultures. In many cases, the date was changed to fit existing celebrations or to complement with a significant date which are for the most part religious. Due to this fact, Mother’s Day is celebrated in February in Norway and on December 22nd in Indonesia, with other dates in between celebrated by other people. One of the traditions of Mother’s Day is to give your mom a gift along with positive wishes as a way to honor her. If you live nearby (and are visiting your mom regularly!) you most likely have a good idea what to buy her. Then again, those of us that don’t live close by can be at a complete loss. Consider the things Mom enjoys a perhaps send her a surprise with that concept. Gift baskets are excellent when it comes to gifts with a theme. If your mom enjoys golf there are golf themed baskets. Maybe she is into tea and relaxation then find a nice tea baskets or a relaxing spa basket. Maybe she loves fine wine and you know she enjoys red wine or white wine or even champagne. There are many great wine gift baskets to choose from that feature wine which would make a appropriate Mother's day basket. The alternatives are many and what a gift baskets does, is give you a nice selection of goodies that she will take pleasure in with the theme she will appreciate. Rather than sending clothes yet again this year, you could consider a Lavender Relaxing Bath Gift Basket . Our bath gift baskets for a woman will relax and impress that special woman. Truly relaxing and fun....She'll love it! Another thing to think about here is the useful factor. What I mean by this is many of the gifts that you give your Mother are either unnecessary or something she will never us. So, consider something green, useful and best of all reusable. The green and reusable is the present holder which could be a reusable basket or perhaps a 100% recycled reusable shopping bag. The useful is the great gourmet foods or the high quality lotions and soaps in the basket. Why not send her something distinct and notable this Mother’s day! Even if you live far away or right down the street these gifts can be delivered. Happy Mother’s Day! Thanks A Bunch Staff!
Thanks A Bunch It seems as though the craft of giving thanks has been lost over the years. Sending a personalized thank you note was once habitual for both personal and business occasions, but now most people presume it's enough to casually send an email with a prompt "thanks" before getting back to their active daily lives. Now don't get me wrong. I know that the world is faster paced than it once was and most people hardly have time to rest and catch a break, but if you think about it, that just gives you that much more reason to send a genuine thanks. Because we've become less conditioned to receiving an official thank you, it makes a much greater impression when we do get one. It genuinely is a lovely surprise to see someone went out of their way to say "thanks." I haven’t yet mentioned the impact it can leave on your business. By simply taking a moment to write a personalized thank you, you are able to express to your customer how valuable their business is to you. By developing personal relationships with your business partners, you are ensuring their loyalty and giving them a reason to conduct business with you as opposed to your competitors. If I still haven’t convinced you that delivering a thank you gift or note is worth the effort it takes, why don't you think about doing something that takes no time at all? Sending flowers or a gift basket from an online website takes about as much time as sending an email, but gives a much more significant impression. Gift like Hats off Appreciation gift basket Our unique appreciation gift has a black top hat filled with an assortment of sweet and savory goodies. This thank you gift is a perfect way to tell staff, customers and friends how much you appreciate them. The black, white and gold theme gives this gift a very classy look. Tortilla Chips, Colorado salsa, Jelly Belly candy, pistachios, chocolate bar, pretzels, raspberry shortbread cookies, and caramel cornGet rid of all objections and practice some good old fashioned courtesy the next time you have the opportunity to say thank you. Baskets By Rita is one website that has an outstanding selection of gift baskets for all occasions. (Insert database). Thanks for listening! Bunnies or Rabbits For Easter?
Easter symbolizes Jesus Christ’s resurrection, making it the most essential of all Christian holy days. However, currently the importance of the holiday is masked by dyed eggs and bunnies. Easter can fall at any time between March 22 and April 25 since is occurs the first Sunday after the full moon. Easter is also related to the Jewish Passover in symbolism and it’s location in the calendar. What’s with Rabbits and eggs and The Easter holiday? Well the rabbit is a well know sexual symbol of fertility. Religions connected with Babel link the rabbit with periodicity, both human and lunar. The Mother Goddess Semiramis (Easter) is related with the moon. Therefore, the Easter bunny rabbit represents the Mother Goddess and is affiliated with once a year Spring time fertility rituals worshiping the Mother Goddess. Painted Easter eggs are a part of the festivities too that came from the egg which was a sacred symbol among the Babylonians. They assumed that a wonderful size egg fell from heaven into the Euphrates River from which the Goddess Semiramis was hatched. It is something to think about how many of us honestly think about the actual meaning of this holiday apart from the resurrection of Jesus Christ. It has grown to be another retail holiday and very commercialized. However, it is a time for families to connect and celebrate the day. Kids love Easter for the presents, candy and most of all the Easter egg hunt which could take on a life of it’s own. Family member that are separated by physical geography many times send Chocolate Easter Basket to their loved ones. Grandparents send Filled Easter baskets for Kids to grandchildren. Daughter and sons might Family Easter Basket to parents and brothers and sisters far away. This Chocolate Easter basket is oh so cute and affordable. It's simply ducky! Love or Chocolate You Choose
You'll find Love is in the air and in the Chocolate around the middle of February. Every Valentine’s Day it feels like people give the exact same thing. A box of chocolates, a cheesy teddy bear, bath products, sexy lingerie, jewelry, it’s all totally predictable! While a lot of people wouldn’t complain about having a gift from someone they love, there must be more personal ways of displaying your love and affection. If you feel like your gifts are becoming gushy from year to year and you want to step it up a notch, why not make something yourself that says that you took the time to create something that comes from your heart. Not only will this mean more, but it will be unique and genuinely convey your feelings in a way that no greeting card can. Here are some ideas that will show you really care. You could Write out a list of all the things you love about them. This can be as long or short as you like. You can format it as a list, a poem, or even sing it to them if you have any musical talent. Leave it next to a vase of flowers or on the bed in a pile of roses, you decide how you want to present it. Everyone likes to be reminded of why they are loved and this is the perfect way to tell them. These are great ways to show that special someone how much you really care on that one day of the year declared I love you day. There are lots creative ideas for creating romance without spending lots of money such as Make and serve them breakfast in bed. Wake up early on Valentine’s Day morning and prepare their favorite meal. Present the food to them on a tray while they’re still laying in bed. What a nice surprise to wake up to! I love Valentines day with all this positive energy of love and romance and caring. If all else fails you could Create a scavenger hunt. Come up with clever clues which you can write out on decorative clue cards leading your loved one around town or just around the house from one clue to the next. At the end, present them with a gift or set the mood with a romantic hideaway which they’ve worked for by answering all of the clues correctly. A friend recently told me that he sent a gift basket to his wife last year for Valentine’s day and she loved it because it contained things that you don’t find in most stores. Great gourmet chocolates, flavored nuts, wine, olives and more great chocolate. It made him look really good and this very romantic holiday. I could have sent him a Valentine's day chocolate gift. Helping fight the stresses of this time of year
Helping fight the stresses of this time of year If you know a Tax accountant, CPA, new lawyer or a undergraduate student, you may be aware of the stresses they experience this time of year. Preparing for and cranking through reams of paperwork or studying for midterms, finals, or that big test can certainly take it out of a person. You oftentimes can’t be there to help them, but want to demonstrate to them that you are thinking of them. We don’t think it’s appropriate for you to stress out trying to search for something to decrease their stress, so we have a few ideas. These are effortless to choose and easy to order if you feel it’s correct for your situation. These items are organized in two categories – first items to help someone stay alert during the peak period. These are generally caffeine and chocolate rich items that will help keep them going. Second are items to help them wind down. One thing busy people can always use is a few munchies to hold them over until their next meal or to help them with their “all nighter”. Baskets by Rita has a handful of timely ideas for gifts that can help that student, lawyer or CPA during those long nites. For the caffeine dependent night owl, there’s the Chocolate and Coffee basket that combines assorted chocolates with Starbucks frappuchino and coffees. Here are two tastes they will enjoy and keep things cranking into the late hours. If they don't enjoy coffees but could still use a bit of caffeine, a stress relief basket could offer just what you need. This basket includes a can of Red Bull with a wonderful variety of munchies. They also get a stress ball to squeeze when a client (or professor) is being very difficult. The survival gift basket is another good choice. It contains caffeine both in the Monster drink as well as the frappuccino. It also contains a good mix of easy to eat munchies to to get them through. OK, so much for the caffeine filled choices. You could really help them relax after a lengthy day. If caffeine is the last thing they want, you might choose something to help them relax after a stressful day. Our first selection is focused on the hard-working lady. A great choice for relaxation is the Luxury Spa Gift Basket. This comes in a galvanized metal tub filled with lotions, scrubs, soaps and even a relaxing CD. This is undoubtedly the most romantic choice on this list. A gift that will soothe the overstressed frantic people in your life is a gift indeed.
