Red is the Color Of Wine Yellow is For Cheese

A Wino's Dream
Throughout human history, wine has been a celebratory beverage savored in both social and religious celebrations and traditions. For millenia wine has been enjoyed for luxury, festivity, and religious purposes. Wine was traditionally thought to have remedial benefits and red wine is proven to be beneficial for heart health. Although not all civilizations consumed wine for recreation, almost every world culture has a wine history whether used as libation or medicine. In my life, wine is suitable for festivity, relaxation, and now and then, as medicine. This fact alone makes wine the best gift for any affair. Anytime I need a gift when visiting a friend’s home, as a housewarming present, or in order to say “thank you,” wine is my first choice. Wine is not only a stylish gift, but it’s easy to pair with appetizers, main dishes, and desserts. Enjoyed in high class society, wine pairings and tastings are a great way to network and spend time with friends. What a great chance to socialize and learn a few things as well!

wine and cheese gift basketRecently, I found myself in charge of planning a rather large social event. In all the pandemonium of making arrangements, I forgot to notify one of the event sponsors of a change in date. The day before the occasion, we recognized the error when I received a phone call from the sponsor. Because of the misunderstanding, they were unable to take part in the event and had blocked time out of their schedule in vain. My immediate response in apology was to send the sponsor a wine and cheese basket from Baskets By Rita. For $150 I was able to send them a basket packed with a variety of red and white wines, cookies, an assortment of cheeses, smoked salmon, gourmet crackers, summer sausage, olives, dried fruits, caramel corn, candy, snack mix, fine chocolates, mixed nuts, and more. I believed that this would be a gift that could be shared among all of their employees and I hoped it would convey my apologies for the misunderstanding. I would recommend a Baskets By Rita wine basket for any occasion for which wine is appropriate. Whether you need to say thank you, send a housewarming gift, apologize, or present a gift when visiting a friend, Baskets By Rita has the perfect wine basket some of which are Wine and Cheese Gift Basket for the occasion.   Our wine & cheese gift basket is  the prefect choice for that special someone. Balloon Bouquet with Gift Baskets That Care

When I was a child my parents would send me off to camp for the summer. The one thing I looked forward to more than letters from family was a care package from my parents. Some girls got a care package every week filled with sweets, random crap that would make us laugh, and pictures. Even though I did not get a package every week like some of the luckier girls, I appreciated the packages I got more because they were more unexpected and much better put together. Since my mom owns a gift basket business, my care packages were never carelessly tossed into a cardboard box, but instead were presented in a beautiful basket wrapped in bows. Not only was the appearance extraordinary, but my mom’s company has access to products which you can’t buy off the shelves in your local big box store. My packages were always packed with gourmet food such as fresh fruit, exceptional chocolate bars, various snack mixes, tea and hot chocolate, and one of a kind cookies and candies.. I would always share my baskets with my friends and for years after, my camp friends would ask me where my mom had found certain delicacies that they had only ever had in the contents of my camp care packages. Two months ago I moved cross country for school after twenty one years of living nearby my parents. Although full-on homesickness hasn’t set in yet, it has been a challenge being apart from my friends and family and there are moments which are harder than others. A few weeks ago I was delivered an unexpected package. I tore the box open to find a gift basket much like the ones my mom used to send me at camp. It included ‘energy’ jelly beans, fruit and nut mix, gourmet chocolate bars and cookies, some of the best granola bars I’ve ever had in my life, and my bike bell which I had left at my parents’ house. It was the most welcome reminder of home I could have hoped for and it reminded me that no matter how far from home you are, your family is always there to take care of you. It was the most wonderful surprise I’ve had in a while and it reminded me that my family is proud of my accomplishments and goals. As you prepare to send your student back to school this fall, remember the little things you can do to remind them that you care for them. Visit Baskets By Rita’s website to see our range of care packages including our Birthday Balloon Bouquets which is the perfect gift for you to show your student how proud you are of them. Send a birthday balloon bouquet to say Happy Birthday to that special someone. We have a great selection of latex and metallic to choose from. Send it alone or add balloons to your basket. Although I was not lucky enough to receive a package every single week, the one or two packages which I did receive were always the best! Not only was the packaging incomparable, but my mom’s company has access to products which you can’t buy off the shelves in your local discount store. Give the Gift of Gourmet Bliss

In many countries all over the globe, Christmas is a time to indulge. Societies throughout the globe observe Christmas as a time for generous indulgence. As the largest commercial holiday of the year, stores start offering Christmas merchandise and playing the Jingle Bell songs as soon as Thanksgiving is over and sometimes sooner! Grand department stores for example Sachs Fifth Avenue and Macy’s create magnificent window displays portraying signs of Christmas in a glitz and glam presentation of glitter, snow, and red and green striped candy canes. Even countries such as Japan, which is not accepted as a Christian country, slip into the holiday spirit and load up on presents for the Christmas season. I guess the spirit of giving is irresistible even when separated from its religious origins. The spirit of indulgence which Christmas brings upon us is not only extended to the gifts we give, but it branches out to encompass the ornaments we see all across town and most of all, the food we eat! Have you ever driven through neighborhoods at night just to marvel at all of the Christmas lights on front lawns and roof tops? And how many times have you given yourself a tummy ache with all the Christmas treats you ate at the holiday cookie exchange? These Christmas traditions are developed throughout the years in order to give us something to look forward to in the gloom of winter.

chocolate christmas gift basketChristmas is a time to commemorate life. In a religious context, Christmas is a celebration of the birth of God’s son on Earth, Jesus Christ. Even people who are not Christian have embraced Christmas for the sense of togetherness it conveys to friends and families. Christmas is a time for gourmet living as I have said before. Everything from the food you eat to the decorations you put up to the presents you give mirrors the season of the holiday, but they are not free of cost. In hard economic times, we find people cutting back on their Christmas spending and making crucial sacrifices to save money. Some people choose to get an artificial tree to save themselves the price of buying a new one year after year. Others purchase energy saving Christmas lights in order to have a smaller energy bill at the end of the season. And some individuals choose to relinquish bringing home the ready made honey baked ham and to baste a ham at home instead. No matter how your family chooses to save money this season, there is no reason why you should have to decrease your gift giving just to get by. At Baskets By Rita, we are committed to giving you the most for your money. Not only do our baskets ship worldwide, but they have the lavish appearance you desire to convey your wishes for a gourmet Christmas. Give the Gift of Beer

beer tub Going back as early as 7,000 BC beer has been enjoyed by people all over the planet since its discovery. While techniques and recipes have changed over time and geography, the basic factors of fermentation and malting are a fabulous scientific discovery. But let’s not get so technical! We get it. Beer has been around forever and people like it! In fact, for much of history, alcohol was preferred over water, since water purification techniques had not been developed. Can you imagine a world where it is healthier to down a few beers than to quench your thirst with water? Try using that excuse next time you stumble home after having one too many! Although in present-day America we tend to classify beer among the "pub or bar" category more than the “fine dining” experience, in ancient times beer was the preferred drink of Egyptian Pharaohs. Countries such as Germany and Belgium are proud of their hundreds of breweries and take the craft of brewing very seriously. Try picking a beer in a Belgian market. You will literally have hundreds of selections! In the USA domestic breweries are becoming more and more popular. As a result, beer is becoming more popular in higher class social groups and has achieved the status of wine in some markets. Take Colorado for instance. Colorado has the most breweries per capita of any U.S. state and I think beer is easily the preferred alcoholic beverage of Coloradoans. As with wine, breweries and particular restaurants have started pairing beer with certain dishes for a finer dining experience. After thousands of years of experimentation and alteration, there is a continuous variety of beers available around the world, and new beers are still being created. When presenting a gift, why not think about including this long loved beverage? A beer basket from Baskets By Rita is a fresh and distinctive gift for any occasion. We can modify any beer basket to incorporate your choice of beers or a selection picked by our basket making, beer loving experts. We also pack our beer baskets with a assortment of snacks like cheese, crackers, chips and salsa, nuts, summer sausage, and popcorn. Take for instance our Beer Tub Gift . Our beer basket is a perfect gift for that beer lover. We fill our galvanized tub with a 6 pack of our Colorado Micro brews, chips and salsa, assorted nuts, beef jerky, beer cheese, crackers, trail mix, chocolate chip cookies, pretzels, popcorn and more. This beer gift basket is a great corporate thank you gift, welcome to your new job, birthday gift basket or even a host thank you gift on game day.. If viewing this post has left your thirsty for more, why not take my advice and sign onto www.basketsbyrita.com and get yourself a beer basket? Don’t forget to pass this on via Facebook or Twitter!
